City Desk Design provides creative and affordable design solutions for print and web. We specialize in design work for the book and music industry.
With extensive experience as a Production Manager and Art Director at an independent publisher, City Desk Proprietor Jeff Nordstedt understands the economy of commercial art.
City Desk's designs focus on the needs of the client and the consumer. This means strong consideration is given to the target audience. It also means that we are committed to providing work on time and within budget.
Our aesthetic tends toward strong and bold images--images that are provocative and edgy, without being over-designed or inaccessible. When typesetting we avoid text designs that overwhelm the content. We prefer simple, elegant, and hip type treatments which pay careful attention to the feel of the finished product.
In designing websites, we take a function-first approach. We believe that the most important part of designing an effective website is the planning. We take time to meet with every web client to get to the root of the goals of the site. Though City Desk is happy to maintain websites and handle updates, we understand that paying for regular updates does not always fit into a client's budget. Therefore we design sites to be easily updated by clients with little risk of disrupting the look of the site.
